UIL Robotics (FRC 9418) at TWHS runs through the offered Robotics courses.
There are four Robotics courses, meaning a student can be a member of the TWHS Robotics team for all four years of high school: Robotics 1, Robotics 2, Practicum in Engineering 1, and Practicum in Engineering 2.
Although all students in a Robotics class may be members of the team, not all students will be members of the Travel Team.
The Travel Team has the following additional responsibilities:
Must attend after school practices: a MINIMUM of once per week in the fall (until 5:30 pm) and twice per week in the spring (until 6:30 pm)
Must travel with the team to all competitions (all overnight travel) - most competitions are in the spring.
Must participate in team special events (fundraisers, outreach, etc.) - most of these events are in the fall, but a few will be in the spring.
Must pay the additional travel fee ($1000) - covers transportation, hotel, and food costs for when we travel.
The goal of every team member should be to make the travel team - these are the students making the biggest impact on the program and most-significantly boosting their resume!
All student in Practicum in Engineering (1 & 2) are required to be on the Travel Team.
